Kick Fast Food to the Curb

“Working with Lauren has completely changed my perspective on life. She taught me that small changes can make a big difference in the way that I feel, and for that, I am forever grateful.”

Holly is bright, bubbly and hilarious! She is a mom, a wife, a sister and just an all-around good person who would drop everything to help someone. Holly has put everyone’s needs before hers, her entire life, which hasn’t left much Holly time at the end of the day. As a result, she struggled with low self-confidence, felt bad about her body, and was scared that she wouldn’t be there for her daughter and future grandkids.

“I want to be more active with my family. I wanna be able to get down on the ground and play with my future grandkids! I don’t always want to eat fast food, and I don’t want to feel tired all the time.”

Holly knew that fast food wasn’t the healthiest. But, it was quick, and as a busy mom, you can’t always plan to cook. However, slowly over time, this became the norm, and anytime Holly and her family were out, her daughter would ask to stop off at a drive-thru, and they did. Because well, she was tired, it tastes good, and it’s convenient.

All the fast food was adding up, which didn’t help Holly’s self-confidence or her diabetes. She worked with a dietician to maintain blood sugar levels, which helped her understand what to do, but she still felt completely overwhelmed. She knew she had to change but didn’t know how, and the fast-food joints were beckoning her.

She had a constant struggle in her head,“ You can exercise tomorrow. Just go and get a treat. It’ll make you feel better. You just need more willpower! Why can’t you eat healthily? It’s not complicated. You’ll never get healthy cause you’re fat and lazy.” Wanting the non-stop negative talk to go away, Holly knew she needed to bring in extra reinforcements. And that’s when I started working with her.

I gave Holly simple tools and tricks to implement into her daily life. She embraced all of the changes and noticed a difference right away. She started drinking more water, finding time to get her sweat on, and also noticed that she was less likely to go to a drive-thru by packing snacks for her family when they were on the go.

Her first big test came when her sister came to visit. She was worried that she would fall into the same fast-food trap, as this is how she and her sister bond. They go out and try new foods. However, this visit was different, and I was thrilled to hear that they only went to a drive-thru once throughout her sister’s stay!

By ditching fast food, Holly noticed that she had more energy and her pants were fitting better. AND at her last doctor’s visit, she got her lowest blood sugar count in a decade. A DECADE!

I am incredibly proud of Holly for setting a new baseline for herself and her family, and I know she is proud of herself too.

“Working with Lauren has completely changed my perspective on life. She taught me that small changes can make a big difference in the way that I feel, and for that, I am forever grateful.”

I am honoured to have worked with such a loving, kind-hearted spirit and wish Holly nothing but the best while you continue discovering your badass self!
